EOC Hazmat exercise simulates up to 90 realistic voice messages to an Emergency Operations Center focussing on evacuation and protection preparations from a hazardous materials accident. The exercise begins with a freight train derailment and fire. An explosion escalates the response urgency. The EOC Staff must react to information requests from a new jurisdiction administration, other agencies, and a higher jurisdiction EOC. Hazardous materials are identified and a series of events increases the scope of the emergency.
