Emergency Operations Center MISSION: Centralize and coordinate response activities and resources to best protect residents and property of the jurisdiction, so that emergency field forces can concentrate on essential, on-scene activities.

Job Description

Fire & Rescue Coordinator

GENERAL DUTIES:


1. Coordinate fire & rescue resource requests from the Incident Commander through the Incident Command Post.
2. Anticipate and alert auxiliary or reserve fire & rescue personnel, if potentially needed.
3. Advise decision makers in the Emergency Operations Center on fire & rescue operations.

Coordinate all fire & rescue agencies in the jurisdiction.

Establish mutual aid agreements with surrounding jurisdictions in the event that additional fire & rescue personnel are required at a disaster.

In a Hazardous materials incident, the State Police Emergency response Officer (ERO) will assume control of response activity (under the Incident Command System) and coordinate additional resources if necessary.

Coordinate the inspection of congregate and shelter facilities prior to occupancy by evacuees.

Station fire personnel and equipment at congregate and shelter facilities when activated.

Assist in warning and evacuation operations when not involved in fire & rescue.

Mobilization Phase
